Dear Wine Club Member,

I am extremely pleased to advise Sandalford Wines has received further industry praise - this time being voted BEST WINE TOURISM OPERATOR at the very prestigeous 2009 Western Australian Tourism Awards announced at a Gala Dinner attended by 1,000+ people tonight at the Burswood Entertainment Complex in Perth.

To win this award, Sandalford Wines beat stiff competition from finalists in the category including Leeuwin Estate and Laurance Wines each from Margaret River to walk away with the coveted title.

Being named BEST WINE TOURISM OPERATOR in Western Australia for 2009 is a magnificant achievement and I extend my sincere thanks to the entire Sandalford team for doing such a wonderful job over a long period time servicing more than 250,000 visitors and tourists generally who annually make their way our Caversham Estate in the Swan Valley.

This award and others received in the last month or so including a GOLD PLATE at the 2009 GOLD PLATE awards, Best Cellar Door and Winery Tourism facility announced last week at the annual Western Australian Wine Industry Awards, and of course the three trophies awarded at the National Wine Show in Canberra last Thursday to the 2008 Sandalford Margaret River Range Shiraz making it arguably the best red wine currently available in Australia, have in my view all been achieved on the back of our dedication to providing Sandalford's customers with truly world class offerings. I am extremely proud that our commitment to demonstrating these exceptional standards has been recognised by our peers in industry, and of course by our valuable customers.

To win BEST WINE TOURISM OPERATOR (and for the fifth time overall) in such a competitive sector does in my view speak volumes about our absolute desire and commitment to remain at the very forefront of the wine and wine tourism industries in Australia. Tonight's award and those received in recent weeks are all regarded as universal benchmarks of quality within our industries. Sandalford has long demonstrated an innovative and robust business model which is expanding and thriving despite to the economic slowdown and the woes currently being experienced by much of the Australian wine industry.

In my view these recent awards feel much sweeter than many of the awards we have received in previous years as Sandalford Wines continues to set higher standards for itself. That we have exceeded our own high expectations is most satisfying and we continue to push ourselves to providing even further improved offerings right across our business.
